Bios
Verne is a partner in the Rapid City law firm of Goodsell Quinn, LLP, where he focuses on medical malpractice, personal injury, insurance bad faith, and strategic business planning. He received a B.S. and M.S. degree from Northern State College, and his J.D. from the Washburn University.
Verne is a member of the American Bar Association and related committees, the State Bar of South Dakota, The American Association for Justice (AAJ), the South Dakota Trial Lawyers Association, and the American Board of Trial Advocates. Verne is currently the AAJ Delegate for the South Dakota Trial Lawyers Association. He is a past president of the State Bar of South Dakota, and previously served as chairman of the Ethics 2000, Multi-Jurisdictional Practice/Internet, and Advertising Committees; he also served as a member of the Disciplinary Board (1990-96), Professionalism Committee (1989-90), and Commissioner (1984-87) of the State Bar of South Dakota. Verne served as a member of the South Dakota Equal Justice Commission.
Verne is a past president of the Pennington County Bar Association. He was general counsel for the South Dakota Board of Technical Professions (1995-2003), a past member of the Federation of Associations of Regulatory Boards, a director of Delta Dental of South Dakota (1980-85) (1991-present), a past director of Christian Life Ministries (1985-2002), past president and director of the Rapid City Cosmopolitan Club, and a past director of the Black Hills Playhouse (1999-2002).
