Terry Quinn received the Advanced Studies in Trial Advocacy (ASTA) award at the American Association for Justice Annual Convention in Montreal, Canada, on July 14, 2015.
Quinn, a partner with the Goodsell Quinn Law Firm in Rapid City, is one of only twenty-four AAJ members to complete this rigorous curriculum.
In addition to the ASTA award, Terry was previously awarded the AAJ Diplomat distinction for completing over 400 hours of continuing education as part of the Achievement Recognition Program. The goal of the program is to build and develop professional knowledge through a continuing commitment to improving knowledge of trial skills and substantive law.
Terry has more than 43 years of trial experience and has authored many articles on trial practice. He was the co-author of “Anatomy for Attorneys,” reprinted as “Medical Evidence” by James Publishing. He practices complex civil litigation, concentrating in the areas of medical malpractice, product liability, environmental and business and commercial litigation. In addition, Terry lectures extensively throughout the United States and Canada on various trial-related subjects.
Quinn is a past President of the State Bar of South Dakota, previous President of the South Dakota Trial Lawyers’ Association, and presently on the Board of Governors for the South Dakota Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association of Justice. He has served as Chair of the board of trustees for the National College of Advocacy.
Quinn recently received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award from the South Dakota Trial Lawyers Association in June, 2015. He is one of only 4 to have ever received the award.
